Xtime 3 (XT3) is an enterprise software solution for automating the service lifecycle. XT3 consists of:
- XT3 Applications: a set of packaged web applications for planning, selling, and fulfilling time-based services, and
- TIMEngine 3, a component-based platform for building web applications and web services around rich models of services, resources, and business constraints.
The XT3 Applications consist of a set of role-based portals. Each of these portals shares functionality with others -- e.g., a business portal user can administer the service catalog just as an admin portal user can -- but presents the functionality in different workflows and with different privileges.
The XT3 Applications provide end-user reference applications that expose the TIMEngine's capabilities. These applications include portals for administrators, business managers, call-center agents, and consumers. A typical enterprise implementation uses portions of the XT3 Applications suite, but may also develop new enterprise-specific applications using the XT3 customization capabilities. In addition, XT3 implementations typically require integration with various other business systems, including ERP, CRM, and SCM systems; the TIMEngine provides extensive integration capabilities for transforming data and connecting decoupled business processes using open standards-based technologies.
Enterprises that adopt XT3 as a centralized scheduling solution typically support operations that rely on multiple channels to its customers. Customers may request services over the web, over the phone, or in person at retail locations. Similarly, enterprises may require that the scheduling system notifies customers of reminders, cancellations, or promotions through email, voicemail, or direct mail. XT3 can provide multi-channel support through its native web capabilities, through voice applications built upon its web services, or through integrations with leading multi-channel service providers.
